EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Arts
I have been creating arts from a very young age. It allowed me to develop my creativity, while increasing my aptitude to design and my attention to details. These skills appear to be crucial in my role as an engineer. Furthermore, I always try to include some art in my personal projects.
General Secretary of the Undergraduate Student Government
I was the General Secretary of the Student Government. I was the leader of the team. I organized regular meetings and team bonding activities. We organized diverse social events and competitions. We also organized fundraising activities to build a water fountain for students living in Laos. This experience was my first leadership position and I really learned a lot from my teammates and the students. I developed my leadership skills while putting my abilities in the service of the community and the world.
Soccer
I have been practicing soccer from a very young age. It allowed me to take my responsibilities in a group while growing a team spirit and a never give up attitude. It also allowed me to learn how to deal with failure, by looking at it as a learning experience.
Volunteering
Coming from Lebanon, a country where the government is failing in assuring the basic human needs. Growing in this environment gave me a life mission: the duty of helping the people around me by making their lives better. During the last few years, I enjoyed participating in various volunteering activities. I joined a missionary group in 2018 and ever since I participate in many volunteering activities from time to time. We distributed food for people in need and organized activities for poor people and elderlies. In August 2020, we helped the people affected by the 4th of August explosion in Beirut. This mission of helping others directed my career path towards building innovative mechatronics systems in the transportation system that will help improve people's life.
HAND-DRAFTING & CAD
Hand-drafting and CAD is the step that makes a project one step closer to reality. I started learning SolidWorks in October 2021 and become a Certified SolidWorks Associate in less than 2 months. My quick growth can be observed in the following pictures. The MIE243 dissections and course project were very good practices. I also worked on personal project to strengthen my skills.
